Join the power movement as a Project Superintendent
The Project Superintendent at Commonwealth Fusion Systems Responsible for day to day oversight of field construction activities of the construction management company and installation contractors. This role ensures activities are being performed safely, in accordance with design drawings and specifications, and to meet the project schedule. This role will have oversight of all disciplines and sub contractors working on the SPARC project.
What you'll do:
- Serve as the primary on site owner's representative, monitoring construction progress and verifying conformance with plans and specifications
- Oversee daily activities of contractors and sub contractors with focus on safety, quality, and schedule
- Participate in field coordination meetings, track work activities, and support resolution of technical or logistical issues
- Interface regularly with engineering, procurement, commissioning, and safety teams to ensure alignment of field execution
- Document daily construction progress, quality observations, safety concerns and risk items
- Assist in the selection of construction management and general contractor firms and reviewing bids
- Assist with constructibility reviews of process designs
- Review constructibility plans and schedules provided by contractors
- Review construction cost estimates provided by contractors
- Coordinate with engineering on constructibility and design issues
- Aid in the Identification the content of engineering document packages (Work Packages) required to support construction activities in the field
- Establish strong working relationships with the engineering teams responsible for the various process systems to facilitate conversion of engineering/design to physical plant
- Oversee the maintenance of construction configuration management
- Responsible for tracking, reporting, and forecasting activities in the field
- Coordinate with the Procurement Organization for field procured materials, material substitution, services, and equipment
- Review material receiving reports and warehousing to assure delivery of correct materials
- Coordinate the preparation of cost reports, forecasts, and progress reports
- Coordinate with Construction Management Company and Subcontractors to plan/support construction schedules.
- Support the construction quality program
- Support problem solving in the field
- Track pending issues and actions impacting system turnover
- Coordinate and facilitate system walkdowns
- Review field generated inspection records for quality and completeness
- Review field generated punch list items for quality and completeness and progress in project database
- Support the implementation of the records retention and turnover plans
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management or High School Diploma with 15 years' experience in industrial construction supervision/management
- 5 years experience in industrial construction supervision or construction management
- Developing or approving manpower estimates, project schedules, and detailed activity planning
- Working knowledge of mechanical, piping, electrical and Instrumentation construction practices
- Construction management software
- Microsoft Office
- Scheduling software
- 3D modeling software
Bonus points for:
- Experience in field change control management
- Capital project estimating
- Developing and following inspection and test plans (ITPs)
- Experience working with 3D models
- Estimating software
- Procurement systems
- Change control systems
Must-have requirements:
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
- Perform activities such as climbing or standing for extended periods of time
- Willingness to travel or work required nights/weekends/on-call occasionally
- Work in a facility that contains industrial hazards including heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, lead (Pb), high voltage, high current, pressure systems, cryogenics, confined spaces, lasers, microwaves, ionizing radiation, and vacuum/pressure systems
$100,000 - $180,000 a year
Salary range for this full-time position + equity + benefits. The actual salary will depend on level, location, qualifications, and experience. The range displayed on each job posting reflects new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Benefits include:
