The Hydaker-Wheatlake Company is currently seeking a Project Manager to join our growing team!

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, and budgets, considering regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Manage 70+ projects concurrently from start to finish.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Provide regular project updates and address concerns promptly.
  • Develop reports from various sources including ERP, time and equipment management systems, and Excel.
  • Update multiple databases with accurate project information.
  • Monitor project budgets, expenditures, and financial forecasts.
  • Allocate and manage resources efficiently, including personnel, equipment, and materials.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety or quality.
  • Enforce safety regulations and ensure that all project activities adhere to safety standards.
  • Identify and assess potential risks associated with projects and implement strategies to mitigate them.
  • Monitor and enforce quality standards for all project deliverables.
  • Oversee contract compliance and ensure that projects align with contractual obligations.
  • Manage change orders and negotiate contracts as needed.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports, meeting minutes, and project records.
  • Lead and motivate project teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in the utility industry.
  • Strong background in Excel and report creation utilizing data from multiple data sources. VBA is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent prioritization skills.
  • Knowledge of utility construction methods, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
