This position will be located at GPC Headquarters in Atlanta, GA.
Hybrid work schedule (both in-office and telecommute); currently four (4) days in-office and one
day telecommute.
Relocation assistance may be provided if the successful candidate does not currently live within a
reasonable commute distance.
This position will require some travel (day and overnight, up to 25%) and the ability to work
successfully in a remote/virtual environment with access to internet service.
JOB SUMMARY
The Distributed Generation ("DG") Project Coordinator facilitates the interconnection and contracting of
Distributed Energy Resources (DER) Customer-Sited programs. The Project Coordinator is responsible
for customer and solar developer interaction through all phases of project consideration.
This role is responsible for the collaborative development, implementation and management of Customer
Sited DG programs and managing Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and/or Interconnection
Agreements (IAs). This position works with large and diverse teams across various departments within
Southern Company and externally to successfully implement DG projects from initial customer or
developer contact through interconnection and billing to achieve commercial operation.
CURRENT CUSTOMER-SITED PROGRAMS
Distributed C&I - Behind the meter solar and/or solar + storage for commercial and industrial customers
Distributed Energy Resources (DER) Customer Owned - A supply-side program through which
customers can enroll their DER systems for a monthly credit
Customer Connected Solar Program (CCSP) - Allows GPC customers to partner with a solar
developer to build an onsite/adjacent site solar facility
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Act as the project manager and primary technical point of contact for Customer-Sited DG
programs ensuring that both internal and external stakeholders meet the necessary requirements
to fulfill contractual and interconnection obligations to customers, developers, and installers
Draft, interpret, and execute Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and Interconnection
Agreements (IAs)
Foster and maintain strong working relationships and communicate effectively with internal and
external parties
Take ownership and responsibility for quality control of all PPA and IA contracts
Identify and implement process improvements and program enhancements utilizing customer and
developer feedback
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience:
4-year accredited BS/BA Degree OR direct experience with project coordination and customer
interaction
Demonstrated experience in project management, working directly with customers, renewable
development and/or regulatory programs preferred
Experience in the areas of Renewable Development, Power Delivery, regulatory programs,
working directly with customers preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Proven or demonstrated leadership, effective communication, and strong interpersonal skills
Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and prioritize work
effectively with minimal supervision
Ability to learn interconnection policies, program guidelines, and IA/PPA documentation for proper
execution and administration of program requirements
Experience managing multiple projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and effectively
interacting with external and internal stakeholders
Effective at building and leveraging internal and cross-functional relationships to achieve goals
