In this role you will work a Hybrid model splitting time between the office and home.
What you will do for Siemens Smart Infrastructure - Electrification and Automation:
This position requires experience soliciting quotes, negotiating cost reduction price agreements and contracts, sourcing suppliers, addressing supply chain issues and request for information for various project spends relating to electric distribution and automation systems, including both large solutions projects as well as quick turn service projects.
Background and experience in electrical engineering and/or procurement of engineering services, control panels, batteries, power supplies, bus bar, e-house HVAC, installation services, engineering services and charging stations is preferred.
This role requires interaction with engineering and operations on a technical basis during bid reviews, project review and project progress reviews including mid and upper management.
Responsibilities
- Working alongside the appropriate business personnel (Procurement, Operations, Engineering, Finance):
- Solicitation and evaluation of bids and quotes in coordination with engineering and project management.
- Attaining cost reductions targets both pre and post book
- Developing sourcing strategies and supply base to maturity
- Sourcing and qualifying new sources and expansion of the supply base
- Reduction in 3rd party non-conformance costs
- Supplier delivery and quality performance
- Evaluation and qualification of new and current suppliers
- PO approval and supply contract negotiation
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
- College Degree in Electrical Engineering, Business or related field, from an accredited school.
- 1-3 years procurement experience.
- 1-3 years Electrical Distribution Industry and/or related Industry supplier experience.
- Computer skills, including Word, Excel, Power Point (advanced preferred).
- e-auction, e-RFQ platform experience
- Knowledge of Electrical Distribution project business - its products, systems, and services or related industry
- Demonstrated and proven strategic negotiation skills
- Prior participation in bid, scope, and project handoff meetings obtaining basic information from prints and/or understanding scope documents.

- Ability to communicate tactfully and diplomatically in both oral and written formats.
- Dynamic, energetic personality that is self-motivated to succeed.
- Ability to take direction, both from manager and team-members.
- Ability to work with other departments to resolve all issues.
- Ability to work both within a team atmosphere, and be able to work individually, in a fast-paced environment.
- Presentation skills
- CPM Certification.
- Familiarity with internet-based applications for purchasing or auctioning items (such as eBay)
- Familiarity with project business

The pay range for this position is $89,670-$153,720 The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic
location.
