Quality Supervisor

Atlas Molded Products, (a division of Atlas Roofing Corporation), specializes in the development and manufacture of innovative, high-quality, HFC- and HCGC- free Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) insulation for construction, packaging, and original equipment management (OEM) products. Atlas EPS insulation is suitable for interior and exterior construction applications, various packaging uses and as part of manufactured systems, such as recreational vehicles, garage and pedestrian doors and sunroom panels.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Direct / Oversee day to day quality activities for both Block and Shape departments.
• Direct / Supervise Quality personnel.
• Communicate product testing needs with Q.A. and production.
• Ensure that in-process and final quality checks are completed on the product.
• Provide monthly reports to the Corporate Director of Quality and Plant Manager and department leads.
• Understand and support the Quality Management System.
• Schedule and conduct monthly internal audits based on the planned audit schedule.
• Maintain procedure books and forms as directed.
• Calibration of monitoring and measuring equipment.
• Understand and support the quality program.
• Understand and execute PPAP and Product qualification processes.
• Oversight of CAPA and Continual Improvement projects.
• Active participation and lead in customer audits and reviews.
• Understand and able to operate CMM and laser scanner.
• Understanding/fluent in statistical methods and analysis.
• Perform various testing of product.
• File quality records according to the quality records table.
• Data Entry.
• Communicate any quality concerns with Plant Manager and Director of Quality as applicable.
• Manages direct reports and oversees training program.

• Interviews candidates for quality positions.
• Conducts corrective action, disciplinary and performance appraisal meetings.
• Responsible for managing staffing levels such as approving time cards and time off requests.
• Perform such other functions and responsibilities as assigned.
• Must be trained and familiar with general safety.

• Must be trained and familiar with ISO 9001 / Quality Management System.
• Must be able to read a tape measure, calipers and scales accurately.
• Must be able to operate measuring and testing devices.
• Must be verified by supervisor and be signed off on procedures needed to fulfill job requirements within 2 months of hire.
• Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance is required.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED), post HS education beneficial.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing / industrial environment preferred.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification preferred.
• Possess a valid drivers license, satisfactory driving record report and insurance coverage appropriate to enable legal and safe driving of vehicle(s) for company related business.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Must be fluent in the English language, both written and spoken.
• Must be able to use simple math and use basic hand-held measuring tools.
• Proficient in Excel, ERP and Database interaction
