We foster an inclusive culture and are looking for diverse, talented people to join Alcon. As a Principle, Facility Electrical Engineer supporting the MTO Chemical Infrastructure Team in Johns Creek, GA , a typical day will include:
Manage individual technical projects for building and facility design, planning, construction, and maintenance
Plan, budget, and schedule facility modifications, including estimates on equipment, labor, materials, and other related costs.
Coordinate building space allocation, layout, communication services, and facilities expansion while ensuring adherence to health and safety standards.
Manage contracts and contractors and engage with insurance providers to develop and execute risk reduction projects such as fire prevention.
Contribute to facility master planning and manage the Real Estate portfolio, including lease management, transaction management, and financial oversight/alignment for lease and maintenance costs.
Perform complex tasks of a highly technical nature that require specialized training or education, applying scientific and engineering principles to solve problems and innovate
Ensure compliance with GxP regulations by strictly following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintaining accurate and complete documentation, ensuring rigorous quality control, and completing all required training.Commit to continuous improvement and regulatory compliance in operations
Support daily Operations needs for electrical and automation system troubleshooting and optimization,
Provide analysis and support or facility power distribution, site power distribution, emergency power generation, grounding and lightning protection, lighting design, telecommunications (voice/data), fire alarm / mass notification, security, access control, and special systems.
Provide supporting documentation such as calculations, reports, and specifications.
This individual is expected to possess extensive knowledge on electrical regulatory codes.
Manage vendors performing maintenance in critical facilities to ensure safety, efficiency, and technical accuracy.
Assists in regulatory compliance inspections and preventative maintenance on critical equipment and properties.
Conducts moderate/complex equipment evaluations, selection, testing, and designs to ensure reliability and scaled expansion of critical facilities.
Utilize advanced knowledge of power distribution systems to actively pursue and correct site problems and increase energy efficiency.
Evaluates and trends the performance of generators, battery backup systems, power plants, HVAC, life/safety, and building management systems.
Develop and manage emergency operating procedures and standard operating procedures.
Tracks and resolves escalations, plans, documents, trends, and logs all parameters relating to space capacity, quality, AC/DC power, HVAC, building management systems, and support systems within critical facilities.
Proactively recommends process improvements to management
Share technical knowledge and skills with other team members to develop their capabilities.
WHAT YOULL BRING TO ALCON:
Bachelors Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs; Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+0 yrs)
The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English

Preferred Experience:
Experience with technical codes such as NEC, NESC, NFPA, IEEE is required.
Prior experience with industrial power, electrical, and controls systems is required
Proven experience in managing teams and coordinating vendor activities to achieve project milestones
Demonstrated ability to deliver projects timely, within budget, and to the required quality standards
Experience with design of electrical systems for facilities
