Test Automation Architect- In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) Systems

Role:

Test Automation Architect

Location : CA

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Test Automation Architect to lead the design, development, and optimization of test automation frameworks for our In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) systems.

This role requires deep technical expertise in semiconductor test environments, embedded systems, and server-client architectures. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership capabilities, hands-on automation experience using PyTest, and experience applying AI/ML techniques to improve automation and validation processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Test Automation Architecture & Strategy: Design and implement scalable PyTest-based test automation frameworks for complex IFE system-level and seat-end testing. Define test strategies for end-to-end validation across headend servers, distributed client devices, and remote lab environments.

Architect automation solutions to validate system integration, functional behavior, and end-user experience of IFE platforms.

Lead the integration of automation solutions with remote hardware labs, simulators, and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) setups. Apply AI/ML models to optimize test case selection, defect prediction, log analysis, and anomaly detection to enhance automation efficiency.

Drive continuous improvements in test coverage, execution efficiency, and result analysis.

System-Level Validation: Oversee development of automated test scripts to verify system-level functionality, application loading, and execution on headend servers.

Lead System Integration Testing (SIT) without reliance on black-box or white-box testing methodologies.

Architect API automation for headend server enabler modules. Ensure capture and management of debug data from IFE LRUs, with automated extraction and logging to gateways.

Validate cabin lighting behavior during various flight phases (e.g. takeoff, landing, etc.).

Seat-End Device Validation: Architect automation for validating peripheral controls, including reading lights, seat-end bar functions, Bluetooth connectivity, and media streaming from headend to seats.

Lead test case development for hand control units and auxiliary interfaces. Implement automation use cases such as factory reset commands, system state queries, and post-reset verifications. Required Skills & Experience:

10+ years of experience in test automation, with at least 3+ years in architect or lead roles.

Strong Python programming skills with advanced PyTest framework experience. Proven experience in semiconductor testing environments, embedded systems, and remote server lab setups.

Hands-on expertise in API testing, system-level debugging, and distributed system validation.

Deep understanding of LRU-based architectures and embedded systems used in avionics or similar domains.

Experience applying AI/ML techniques to automation frameworks for data analysis, test optimization, and predictive quality.

Demonstrated experience in architecting automation solutions for complex server-client and hardware-in-the-loop environments. Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience with IFE or avionics testing platforms.

Hands-on expertise with data logging, debug data extraction, and analysis tools for embedded systems. Experience collaborating with cross-functional hardware, software, and application test teams. Strong knowledge of networked embedded systems, remote device orchestration, and lab automation frameworks. Excellent communication, documentation, and team leadership skills.
