SUMMARY:

Responsible for working independently to perform maintenance, repairs, and/or modifications of the plant's computer-driven control system and the plant's electrical system; involved in design application, installation, and repair of all PLC and electrically driven equipment. Responsible for performing job duties under the general direction of the Engineering Manager.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Provides leadership and guidance to employees in the Maintenance Department.

* Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

* Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and assisting in providing appropriate resolutions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Lead the Electrical or Mechanical Team in the day-to-day operations, including safety, costs, quality, team building, PM development, and other areas as required to meet maintenance needs.

* Adhere to all company policies and procedures

* Day-to-day troubleshooting, repair, and installation of low and medium voltage (single/three phase) industrial, electromechanical, and control systems for all utility and production equipment

* Create a parts list and determine the best routes for conduit runs and wiring in accordance with the NEC code and all applicable standards. This includes both building electrical and machine electrical panels.

* Assist in maintaining documentation for existing and new equipment, control, and building power system installations.

* Work independently in troubleshooting and repairing problems with programmable logic controllers and related components when required.

* Be able to obtain backup plc programs from a server to reload or reboot plc programs to restore faulted equipment.

* Assist with system startups and operational checkouts on systems, including configuration, wiring, calibration, grounding, and power testing.

* Must be competent in making electrical/electronic systems diagnostic evaluations and prescribing corrective action to subordinates.

* Write procedures, work instructions, and work orders and maintains records of repairs, calibrations, and test in the mp2 maintenance management system.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the work environment, knowledge, skill, and/or ability required or preferred. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Must have a minimum of a 4-year electrical engineering degree from an ABET accredited university and previous leadership experience. Background in PLC, VFD, and Servo Motor Control Systems. Being bilingual is a plus. Experience using multiple computer applications including but not limited to ADP, SAP, and Microsoft Office Suite. KNOWLEDGE: Ability to read schematics and blueprints and document all self-created changes. Complete understanding of plant electrical systems, including DC and AC voltage from 24v to 480v. Experience with plant floor automation, office Ethernet, control net, fiber optic networks, and network wiring. LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS: To be reviewed with hiring manager. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and write documents in the English language. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Must be able to perform simple math and perform calculations in preference to projects.
