Building Maintenance Tech/HVAC

Building Maintenance Tech/HVAC PT or FT Town of Longmeadow, MA DPW isseeking qualified applicants for the FT positions of BuildingMaintenances Technician/HVAC. Position is responsible for heating, airconditioning and ventilation work at the journeyman level and performsother maintenance work as assigned. Successful candidate must have:Knowledge of relevant Massachusetts General Laws related to essentialfunctions. Knowledge of facilities management; working knowledge ofhazards and safety precaution common to HVAC maintenance and repairactivities; working knowledge of practices, methods, materials, andtools used in modern HVAC repair and maintenance. Ability to managemultiple projects simultaneously. Ability to communicate effectivelyboth orally and in writing. Ability to maintain good public relationsand to maintain effective collaborative working relationships with Towndepartments, department heads, fellow employees, officials and thegeneral public and to respond in a courteous and professional manner.Ability to meet deadlines. Ability to work independently. Must beavailable for emergency call outs during time off. Ability to plan workschedule to coordinate with other departments to ensure timelycompletion of projects. Strong communication skills, problem-solvingskills and customer service skills. Strong skills in operation of toolsand equipment. Associates degree or journeyman level in the trades orlicenses, and 3 to 5 years of specialized training as an HVAC technicianexperience; or any equivalent combination of education, training,certification, and experience. Must have and maintain validMassachusetts journeyman HVAC license; must have ability to work fromblueprints or create own plan when needed; must have and maintain avalid driver\'s license; Must be able to pass a CORI check. Required tobe on call as needed to respond to emergencies Salary \$27.59- \$29.28per hour DOE/DOQ; excellent benefits.
