Senior Electrical Engineer - Robotics & Embedded Systems
Full-time | $130K-$170K + Equity (0.25%-1.00%) | Remote-Friendly | PTO
We're building real-world robotic hardware, and we need someone who can own the electrical side from concept to deployment. This role is hands-on, fast-paced, and highly cross-functional. You'll be working shoulder-to-shoulder with mechanical and software engineers to make tough technical decisions, move quickly, and ship systems that actually work in the field.
What You'll Work On
Lead electrical design for a robotic product from the ground up
Design PCBs, develop embedded firmware, and implement motor control (brushed + brushless)
Define architecture, system requirements, and development timelines
Create schematics and wiring layouts with safety, performance, and DFM in mind
Select and validate components with a focus on power, reliability, and signal integrity
Collaborate closely with software and mechanical teams to deliver integrated systems
Run design reviews, track progress, and solve complex engineering challenges
What You Bring
Strong background in board design, firmware, and motor control
Hands-on experience with PCB fab, bring-up, and deep debugging
Familiarity with STM32 or Infineon PSOC microcontrollers
Proficient in embedded C/C++
Experience shipping electromechanical systems that work in the field
5+ years of industry experience
Ability to lead projects and work across disciplines with ease
Bonus Skills
Expertise in multi-layer, high-current board design
Advanced motor control tuning and optimization
Firmware across multiple MCU families
Altium Designer wizardry
Python scripting for test automation
Debugging low-level hardware/firmware issues fast
Interfaces like I2C, SPI, UART, RS485, and CAN
DFM, compliance, and vendor coordination (US + overseas)
Power systems and battery design knowledge
Leadership or mentoring experience
Strong documentation and organizational habits
