The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for electrical construction projects. This role requires a thorough understanding of electrical systems, blueprints, and construction practices, with a focus on delivering timely and precise bids that align with project specifications and company objectives. Key Responsibilities: Analyze blueprints, drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates. Obtain quotes from suppliers and subcontractors for materials and services. Prepare detailed cost breakdowns and bid proposals. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify scope and ensure estimates align with project goals. Evaluate and recommend cost-saving measures and engineering options. Participate in bid reviews and project handoff meetings. Track and update estimate templates, databases, and historical cost data. Monitor market trends, labor rates, and material pricing to ensure estimate accuracy. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred. 3+ years of experience in electrical estimating, preferably in the commercial or industrial sector. Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and construction methods. Proficiency in estimating software ( ConEst - Intellibid) and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Preferred Skills: Licensed electrician or journeyman certification is a plus. Experience with design-build or design-assist project delivery. Familiarity with project management tools and software.
