Excavator Operator Job Description Join a skilled team dedicated to operating heavy equipment for water, sewer, and storm wet underground utilities. We are seeking an experienced excavator operator with expertise in handling Cat and Komatsu 138 and 335 excavators. Your role will involve a variety of tasks crucial to our construction projects. Responsibilities Start, warm up, check controls, and shut down machines. Operate various types of ditching, trenching, hoisting, earth-moving, and miscellaneous construction equipment. Distinguish between properties, types, and moisture content of soils. Perform preventive maintenance and inspections. Understand and use construction hand signals for operators. Read and set elevations and grades. Perform related work as required. Essential Skills 2+ years of experience operating an excavator. Experience with Cat and Komatsu 138 and 335 excavators. Knowledge of safety procedures for heavy equipment and construction sites. Ability to understand construction hand signals. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with dozer, backhoe, skid steer, and loader operations. Possession of a valid driver's license Why Work Here? The schedule includes working 55 hours a week, with 10-hour days from Monday to Friday and 5 hours on Saturdays. The start time is 7 AM, with a requirement to be present by 6:30 AM to prepare for the day.
