Position Overview
As our Commercial Construction Superintendent, you are responsible for overseeing daily operations on construction sites, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards. This role is crucial for the successful completion of commercial construction projects, ensuring that all aspects of the project are managed effectively and efficiently.
Position Responsibilities
Project Management - oversee all phases of construction projects, coordinating construction crews, subcontractors, materials, and equipment to ensure compliance with project specifications and timelines
Quality Control - Perform regular inspects to ensure that construction work meets quality standards and adheres to safety regulations
Budget Oversight - Monitor project budgets, manage costs, and ensure that resources are allocated efficiently
Team Leadership - Supervise constructions workers and subcontractors, providing direction and support to ensure effective teamwork and communication
Safety Compliance - Enforce safety protocols and ensure that all work is performed in accordance with guidelines and local building codes
Problem Solving - Address and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during the construction process, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines
Reporting - Prepare and submit regular reports on project progress, budget status, and any challenges encountered to management and stakeholders
Position Compensation/Benefits
$80-100K base salary, depending on experience
Monthly stipend for health plan
Requirements:
Position Requirements
Bachelor's degree preferred in Construction, Building Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred but not required
4-7 years' experience in commercial and/or municipal construction project management as a superintendent or similar lead role
Strong understanding of construction processes, methods, and safety standards
Excellent leadership and organizational abilities to manage diverse teams and ensure project success
Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively liaise with clients, construction crews, subcontractors, and management
Ability to think critically and resolve issues efficiently as they arise on the job sites
Strong technical aptitude in reading blueprints
Working knowledge of MS Office
Strong organizational, time management and scheduling skills
Must be detail-oriented with excellent analytical skills
Must be able to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities and work well under pressure
