You may be contacted by phone byrecruitment personnel based in either Canada or New York.**Work Shift:**Second Shift (United States of America)**Job Description:**Welds and assembles metal pieces and products by using handheld weldingequipment. Sets up parts for welding; uses hand tools, clamps, jigs andfixtures. Works from specifications, drawings and weld symbols. Preparesand completes work on materials by welding, cutting, grinding andcleaning metal.**RESPONSIBILITIES:**- Produce weldments to the specified documentation on both prints and job paperwork.- Must be able to read and comprehend job paperwork and prints.- Responsible for setup, operation, and maintenance of the tools within the work area.- Notify Production Supervisor when welding supplies are needed.- Maintain a clean work area.- Fit all assemblies and subassemblies prior to paint to ensure accuracy and quality control.- Safe operation of overhead cranes and all other shop equipment (electric, pneumatic, or hydraulic).**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:**- High School Diploma or equivalent required- Must be certifiable and able to pass the certification test in accordance with the AWS D14.1 specifications- SMAW, MCAW, GMAW and spray arc welding experience preferred- Must be able to operate and use flame cutting equipment- Use and read basic hand tools; including but not limited to grinders, drills, tape measures- Handle materials with forklifts and overhead cranes as needed- Required to travel throughout all the facilities- Must be able to communicate with factory supervision effectively and follow company policies**WORK ENVIRONMENT:****ADA Physical/Mental/Workplace Requirements**- Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds- Able to stand (75%); walk (20%); stoop, kneel or crouch (5%), as required- Able to wear safety glasses and foot protection throughout shift- Able to wear hearing protectors (ear plugs) throughout the shift while working in an environment with moderate noise levelsGorbel is an Equal Opportunity Employer that does not discriminate onthe basis of actual or perceived race, creed, color, religion, alienageor national origin, ancestry, citizenship status, age, disability orhandicap, gender, gender identity, marital status, veteran status,sexual orientation, genetic information, arrest record, or any othercharacteristic protected by applicable federal, state or local laws.Gorbel is also committed to providing reasonable accommodations toqualified individuals so that an individual can perform theirjob-related duties.
