Lead Mechanic

Please note; this role is based in Losantville, IN! Job Description: Are you a seasoned mechanic with a passion for managing operations and keeping heavy equipment running at peak performance? Join our well-established Excavation and Trucking company as a Shop Manager responsible for overseeing the service, maintenance, and repair of our fleet, which includes dump trucks, semis, and heavy construction machinery. We're seeking a hands-on leader with 10+ years of experience in heavy equipment and diesel repair, a deep understanding of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems, and the ability to manage a shop with a focus on quality, safety, and uptime. Key Responsibilities: Oversee and manage day-to-day operations of the shop Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on various equipment types Schedule and perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime Manage inventory of tools, parts, and equipment Supervise and mentor junior mechanics and technicians Ensure all work meets safety standards and company expectations Coordinate with operations teams for timely equipment availability Maintain detailed records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections Be available for overtime and emergency repairs as needed Qualifications: 10+ years of hands-on experience with heavy equipment, trucks, and construction machinery Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electronic diagnostics Previous experience managing or leading a mechanical team or shop preferred Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment Valid driver's license (CDL preferred but not required) Commitment to safety, reliability, and operational excellence Why Join Us?
