Welder III Job Description As a Welder III, you will complete projects with minimal supervision and perform a variety of welding processes using electric resistance, oxyacetylene, or plasma-arc torches. You will weld commonly used metals and alloys in various shapes, sizes, and thicknesses, selecting the appropriate welding electrodes for specific welds to ensure penetration and fusion of base and filler metals. Your role includes fabricating or repairing products according to blueprints, layouts, or work orders, and welding in vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions. Additionally, you may assign work to Welders and check their work. Responsibilities Give work assignments and provide guidance to other Welder staff as assigned. Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications. Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as TIG and MIG. Specialize in certain types of welding such as custom fabrication, structural construction welding, or production welding. Use electric/air tools and power tools as required. Scan all jobs through the Made2Manage (M2M) system. Essential Skills Experience with MIG and TIG welding processes. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Knowledge of fabrication techniques. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Five years of experience as Welder II, or a welding certification and three years welding experience, with some college or industry courses in welding. Five years of machine shop experience desirable. Working knowledge of welding materials and equipment. Experience with forklifts, pallet jacks, and hoists desirable. Ability to read and use a tape measure. Must be organized, reliable, punctual, adaptable, and flexible. Demonstrate a positive professional demeanor and dress. Adhere to all company policies. Work Environment The role is based in a heavy manufacturing environment that is not climate-controlled, requiring the use of correct body mechanics during physical activities such as pushing/pulling, stooping, squatting, sitting, and lifting. The position operates on the 1st shift from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, with the possibility of 1-2 hours of overtime daily. Why Work Here?
