Opportunity Summary
The Project Designer I is a customer facing position responsible for all aspects of pre-sales design activities including material specification, labor estimation, and scope writing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for interfacing with the Cenero sales team, and our customers, to develop a scope of work for AV services to be rendered
Develop specifications for all materials and labor required to deliver the scope of work
Collaborate with other Cenero teams to incorporate managed services as required
Collaborate with other Cenero teams to develop subcontractor or special material pricing as needed
Understand anticipated base building requirements in the AV scope, and communicate those to other members of the project team and customer as needed
Collaborate with the sales team to identify and execute strategies to add value to the customer conversations, and to develop lasting stable relationships with our customers
Respond to industry standard bid documentation as needed.
Attend applicable meetings, visit customer sites & conduct site surveys to gather necessary information
Professionally represent Cenero to the customer and other project contacts and manage the customer's expectations
Stay informed of technology trends in the AV industry
Contribute to departmental and best practices and procedure documentation and adherence.
Complete design and engineering efforts for $3M+ of revenue yearly
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Experience and/or Education
Applicants should have a 2 or 4 year college degree in a technical field
Applicant must have 2 plus years of related AV experience
Applicant must have knowledge of AV fundamentals and ICIA best practices
CTS certification is preferred
CTS-D is a plus
Manufacturing certifications are a plus
Experience with installing or supporting AV equipment is a plus
Skills
Applicant must have efficient excel skills
Applicant must have sound technical writing ability
Experience reading and understanding signal flow and architectural system drawings
In-depth understanding of acoustics, electrical wiring and control systems is required with a working knowledge of related products and test equipment. Must also have experience with the installation and use of such equipment.
Experience designing, configuring, and troubleshooting advanced video and audio over IP systems and other network-based AV technologies
Ability to multi-task and complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner
Applicant must be able to handle the pressure of deadlines on a regular basis
Physical Demands
Must be able to perform the essential functions of this job

Compensation Transparency
The salary range for a Project Designer I can range from $68,750 to $79,500 per year. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range. Individual pay is determined by different factors, including work experience, geographic location, job-related skills, education level, position specific certifications, and additional trainings completed.
