SUMMARY The Porter Co. seeks a Project Manager to be responsible for the overall management direction to single or multiple projects at any given time. This individual will follow the established project procedures and policies, and maintain liaison with prime client contracts. The Project Manager is ultimately responsible for completing each project from inception through close-out, operating as the primary company representative accountable for completion on time, within budget, and to the utmost satisfaction of the customer. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include the following, but not limited to. Other duties will likely be assigned. Lead project planning, scheduling, and execution for mechanical construction projects. Manage project budgets, contracts, and financial performance. Coordinate with clients, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure project alignment. Provide technical advice to both clients and employees working on assigned project. Oversee procurement of materials and equipment. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies. Ensures accurate and timely project documentation, including but not limited to, RFI's submittals, schedule updates, time records, supplemental work orders, change order pricing, and general project correspondence. Identify and mitigate project risks and resolve issues proactively. Provide leadership and mentorship to project teams; Monitor all work performed on assigned project. Conduct regular meetings to track progress and address challenges. Prepare and present project reports to stakeholders. Drive continuous improvement and innovation in project management processes QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. POSITION REQUIREMENTS/PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Minimum of 8-10 years of experience managing mechanical and plumbing contracts valued at $25 Million+. Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management or related field or equivalent mechanical, HVAC, and commercial plumbing field experience working for a Mechanical Contractor. Strong knowledge of HVAC, piping, plumbing, and mechanical systems. Knowledge of the construction industry and contract documentation. Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Autodesk Construction Cloud, MS Project). Must be proficient using Microsoft Excel Pivot Tables and PowerPoint. Excellent leadership, written and verbal communication, and negotiation skills Ability to foster teamwork and collaboration in an environment that emphasizes excellence. Ability and desire to mentor others and promote professional behavior while motivating the team. Results driven individual with integrity. Mindful of risk and safety. Working knowledge of federal, state, and city regulations and guidelines. COMPUTER SKILLS Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Familiarity with project management/document control software. Familiarity with construction/financial software packages. LANGUAGE SKILLS Must have the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in English, cooperate, and collaborate with multiple levels of customer, employees, unions, government agencies, vendors and suppliers, and other contractor organizations.
