RESPONSIBILITIES

Operate a hot mix asphalt plant

Run raw aggregate and liquid asphalt materials through the mixing drum to be stored in silos until ready for delivery to the job sites or to be loaded into trucks

Operate the asphalt plant computer systems

Collaborate with the quality control team to inspect each batch of product to ensure a quality mix is being produced

Assist the foreman and superintendents with material ordering, scheduling, inventory management, and record keeping

Communicate with road crews, truck drivers, dispatchers, and customers

Schedule and perform daily plant maintenance as needed

Order and maintain inventory of plant parts, grease, asphalt oil

Supervise daily activities and ensure safety policies are being followed

Other duties as assigned

Ability to multitask and follow instruction.

Must be respectful and cooperating with customers/drivers/coworkers.

REQUIREMENTS

Must maintain a focus on safety

Experience working with crushers, conveyors, and screens preferred

General knowledge of construction materials, tools, and equipment

General knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems

Welding skills are a plus, but not necessary

3 years of experience operating a hot plant preferred but not required

Must be punctual, have a strong work ethic, and maintain a good attendance record

Must have a positive attitude and work well with others when under pressure

Lift/move up to 50 lbs. when necessary

Work outdoors in all weather conditions when necessary

Work overtime, nights, weekends, as needed

Reliable transportation

Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
