We're currently seeking a highly motivated Public Works/Civil Inspector located in Portland, OR .
Required Education:
- High School Diploma
Preferred Certifications/Licenses:
- State or County issued Inspector License is desirable
Required Qualifications:
In order to become a candidate, you must possess the following skills and abilities.
- Knowledge of the administration of construction public works contracts
- Understanding of construction processes and methods, materials and their use, characteristics, preparation and/or installation
- Knowledge of characteristics and capabilities of construction equipment, and tools used in construction inspection- Ensure contractor, personnel and public safety
- Understanding of construction surveying practices and requirements
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preferred to have knowledge/experience in large pipe diameter installation.
- Preferred to have knowledge/experience in site civil structural concrete and reinforced concrete.
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret survey notes and perform survey-related computations
- Read and interpret construction plans, specifications, codes, laws, and contracts
- Perform math calculations associated with the computation or estimation of construction progress, dimensions, quantities, and costs
- Maintain construction records; document daily construction activities and write related reports
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diversity of construction personnel, equipment operators, supervisors, crews, and contractors
- Interact effectively to solve problems and partner with citizens, community groups and/or contractors
Salary:
- $35-45/hr
Bonus Pay:
A bonus may be granted to employees depending on individual performance, employee utilization, attendance, tenure, and furtherance of other non-financial corporate goals; bonus opportunities are available at management's discretion.
