Press Brake Operator Job Description As a Press Brake Operator, you will be responsible for setting up the machine and determining the appropriate tooling needed for each job. You will verify the accuracy of pieces to print specifications using fixed gauges, calipers, and micrometers to reduce nonconforming parts. Your role involves observing the machine during production to avoid damage and accurately inputting parameters from blueprints. You will also load and unload the machine using forklifts and cranes, and may perform minor assembly tasks using power and hand tools. Responsibilities Set up the press brake machine and determine the tooling to be used. Verify the accuracy of pieces to print specifications using fixed gauges, calipers, and micrometers. Observe the machine during production to prevent damage to the machine, tooling, or parts. Read blueprints and input parameters into the machine. Load and unload the machine using forklifts and cranes. Perform minor assembly tasks, such as fastening parts with nuts, bolts, and screws using power and hand tools. Essential Skills Ability to program and operate a press brake accurately. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and job instructions. Experience working with various metals, including steel and stainless steel. Knowledge of using tape measures, calipers, and micrometers. Experience with fabrication processes. Additional Skills & Qualifications Post-secondary education or experience in press brake operations. Ability to stand, bend, and crawl throughout the day. Capability to lift up to 50 pounds comfortably. Ability to wear a respirator when needed. Pass a physical exam and a drug test. Ability to work independently and efficiently manage your day.
