Job Description

Johnson Service Group an award-winning staffing company is looking for a Project Superintendent with a minimum of 5 years of project management experience, preferably in a mining environment. This is a Direct hire job for a Mining, company in ID.

Pay Rate: $120K

SUMMARY

The Project Superintendent is responsible for the planning, budgeting, oversight of contractors, documentation, and communication of assigned Lucky Friday Projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Work closely with site management, contractors, technical staff and operations staff to ensure that the scope and direction of each assigned project is clear and on schedule.

Prepare recommendations, summaries, schedules and cost estimates for assigned projects.

Meet with key stakeholders and contractors to coordinate planning and scheduling activities.

Schedule and coordinate the work of Projects department employees and contractors to meet project timeline milestones, completion date, and budget.

Provide oversight of contractor work activities with an emphasis on safe work performance.

Effectively communicate status of projects as needed and provide ongoing updates as scheduled.

Coordinate with the appropriate site managers, corporate employees, and regulatory agencies to ensure project activities are in compliance with all applicable regulations.

Discuss any significant deviations from project timelines and planned activities with appropriate personnel to determine solutions and next steps to remain on schedule.

Address issues as they arise, provide solutions, and work with Project Manager, site managers and contractors to resolve them.

Incorporate adjustments to project plans as needed to support changes for assigned projects.

Create and submit AFE's for approval of capital expenditures.

Participate in monthly capital committee meetings.

Lead Risk Assessment activities for assigned projects.

Lead and participate in the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) as required.

Follow and understand MSHA rules and regulations, environmental rules and regulations, SOP and work area instructions, participates in safety and environmental activities. Lead by example by adhering to rules and regulations and ensuring compliance to rules and regulations of Lucky Friday Operations.

Comply with applicable environmental laws and regulations. Conducts activities and work in an environmentally responsible manner. Is aware of procedures to minimize impacts to the environment.

Must be able to work and communicate effectively with other members of the work team.

Must be willing to comply with all company policies and procedures.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Contractors

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Lucky Friday's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include ensuring contractors are trained on site specific required information and to MSHA requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

B.S. Degree in Engineering and/or Project Management certification required.

Minimum of 5 years of project management experience, preferably in a mining environment.

Excellent oral, written and presentation skills are required.

Good communication skills across all levels of the organization.

Must be proficient with project management software

Must be computer literate and proficient in Outlook, Excel, Word, and Project Management Software.
