Summary:
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for leading a diverse, represented hourly workforce in day-to-day operational activities, maintenance of equipment and troubleshooting efforts, as well as, interacting with all levels of the organization on a wide range of business issues. This position reports to the Plant Manager.
The Reliability Mechanical Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of equipment within a metal manufacturing plant. They focus on managing risk, minimizing downtime, improving equipment reliability, and optimizing maintenance practices.
Responsibilities:
- Maintenance Strategies:
- Analyzes equipment performance, failure data, and corrective maintenance history to develop and deploy engineering solutions, improved maintenance strategies, preventative maintenance optimization, and other reliability techniques.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
- Utilizes predictive, preventative, and precision maintenance technologies and strategies designed to identify or control risks prior to failure and ensure optimum maintenance execution.
- Collaboration:
- Provides technical service to operations and manufacturing personnel on equipment related troubleshooting efforts.
- Total Cost:
- Maximize equipment reliability while considering economic factors.
- Evaluate the impact of projects (reconfigurations, design changes) on meeting customer needs.
