Position Description

This hybrid position combines warehouse and yard responsibilities with front-line customer service and sales support. You’ll gain valuable experience in inventory management, forklift operation, construction materials, customer engagement, and basic retail operations—making this an ideal opportunity for someone who wants to grow, learn, and use a wide range of skills in a supportive and fast-paced environment.
Whether you're helping a contractor load product, entering an order into the system, or answering a customer's question, your efforts directly impact our customers’ success. No two days look exactly the same.
QualificationsKey Responsibilities
Provide exceptional service to contractors and walk-in retail customers
Load and unload Mutual Materials products safely and efficiently, primarily using a forklift
Maintain accurate shipping/receiving documentation and yard inventory
Keep yard and showroom orderly, clean, and well-stocked
Assist with showroom sales support including preparing sales orders, data entry, and reordering product
Answer phones, assist with order taking, provide directions, and route calls/messages
Handle cash and credit transactions and process paperwork accurately
Perform clerical duties such as filing and sorting mail
Break down pallets, prepare orders, and occasionally hand-load product
Support periodic inventory counts and other assigned projects
Work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions
Qualifications
Strong customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written
Positive attitude and team-first mindset
Ability to lift 70+ lbs occasionally and stay on your feet most of the day
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Forklift experience preferred; OSHA certification a plus
Computer skills and strong basic math skills required
Familiarity with masonry products, stone, or construction practices is a plus
Prior experience in building materials, retail, warehouse, or distribution is preferred
Schedule & Expectations
Full-time: 40 hours per week
Occasional weekend availability may be required
Must be able to perform both indoor and outdoor duties throughout the shift
