About the Role:

The Electrician/Calibration Technician is responsible for the installation, calibration and operation of all process instrumentation in the plant. These instruments include flowmeters, gauges, load cells and scales. They are used to indicate, control and record key parameters such as pressure, temperature, humidity and mass flow.

Main Responsibilities:

CALIBRATION
Performs internal calibration, verification and validation of process instrumentation
Check and verify the operation and functions of process instrumentation
Learn to operate industry specific instrumentation and software (e.g. Oscilloscope, Field Metrology Well)
Provide support to vendors for external calibration activities

MAINTENANCE
Install these instruments according to electrical schematics
Repair and replace worn and/or faulty components of these instruments
Assemble and install these instruments on testing apparatus
Diagnose and rectify faults indicated in these instruments
Provide support and training to production to read these instruments

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
Identification of Continuous Improvement initiatives related to productive factors
Gives support, throughout data analysis, to the Department Manager and SSP Unit in identifying possible continuous improvement initiatives related to process instrumentation

QUALITY AND FOOD SAFETY
Ensure all program requirements/standards regarding quality and food safety are implemented, practiced and maintained
Compliance to regulations and procedures to maintain the highest levels of health and safety, food safety, GMP's and HACCP
Participate in and support with internal and external audits to ensure compliance

DOCUMENTATION
Documents all calibration and maintenance activities in a detailed and organized manner

Who we are looking for:

The successful candidate must have a Grade 12 education
Industrial Maintenance Electrician License (442A or 309A) preferred
4-7 years of experience as an electrician or other relevant roles
Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
SAP is an asset
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Strong analytical skills
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Work activities involve handling loads between 10 kg and 20 kg
Industrial Instrument Mechanic Certificate preferred
