JOB SUMMARY
The Maintenance Technician – Painter/Drywall Specialist is responsible for maintaining the aesthetic and structural integrity of the hospital interior by performing skilled work in painting, drywall repair and installation, wallpaper removal, and baseboard installation. This position plays a vital role in ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Prepare and paint interior surfaces, including walls, ceilings, doors, and trim. Repair, install, and finish drywall, including taping, mudding, sanding, and texturing. Remove outdated or damaged wallpaper in patient rooms, hallways, and office areas. Install and replace baseboards and other trim materials as needed. Perform surface preparation including patching holes, sanding, caulking, and priming. Maintain an organized inventory of paint supplies and materials. Ensure work areas are clean, safe, and secured during and after each project. Collaborate with other facilities team members on larger renovation or repair projects. Respond to work orders in a timely and professional manner, prioritizing urgent needs. Comply with all hospital safety protocols, infection control procedures, and regulatory standards. Assist with general maintenance tasks as needed.
QualificationsJOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School graduate or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in painting, drywall, or general maintenance, preferably in a healthcare or commercial setting.
Skills: Knowledge of tools, materials, and methods used in painting and drywall finishing. Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, and technical instructions. Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders and standing for extended periods.
