Quality Builders is looking for a dedicated and experienced Superintendent to join our team. You are responsible for overseeing and coordinating daily field operations on our residential projects ranging from $50k to $2M in value. Many of our projects are complex (additions and basement digdowns) and NOT typical kitchen and bath renovations. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to ensure that construction activities are performed safely, efficiently, held to the highest level of quality and in accordance with buildings & project plans.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee & direct daily operations on multiple project sites. REQUIRE A CLEAN JOB SITE!
- Supervise and manage construction crews/subcontractors, monitoring progress, and providing direction to ensure the efficient execution of work.
- Research, interview, and onboard new subcontractors
- Work closely with the Project Manager and other team members to ensure project timelines and budgets are met.
- Provide input on scheduling, planning, and resource allocation.
- Review schedules and hold subcontractors accountable for timelines
- Proactively identify potential delays, quality risks and change orders
- Assist in the ordering, receiving, and management of materials and supplies onsite - ensure that nothing is wasted and reuse & recycle materials if possible.
- Submit daily reports using project management software reporting daily site activities, including labor hours, materials used, and any incidents or delays that occur.
- Implement and create new ideas and processes at the project sites
- Promote a strong safety culture on site by enforcing safety protocols, conducting safety meetings, and reporting safety violations.
Experience:
- 5+ years Residential construction & renovation
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
- Great oral communicator that speaks the same construction language as subcontractors and city inspectors In-depth knowledge of construction processes and drive to deliver a quality product every time.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., BuilderTrend) and Google Suite.
- Familiarity with additions and basement digdowns is a bonus
- Spanish speaking is a bonus
