We are looking for you to join our Tactical Fighters Business Unit as a Consulting Chief Mechanical Engineer based out of Linthicum, MD.
What Youll get to Do:
Lead and direct cross-functional engineering teams during design, manufacturing, and delivery phases of products in development and production phases.
Tactical day-to-day oversight of HW IPTs supporting the manufacturing build and test of deliverable prime mission equipment (PME).
Key interface for manufacturing production cells, working directly with Operations Program Managers (OPMs), cell supervision, and operators/technicians.
Brief customers and internal leadership on design and offer up innovative solutions for cost and schedule savings.
Work tactical design efforts and lead teams to perform Root Cause Corrective Actions.
Be responsible for Receiver/Exciter and AESA product lines from the LRU down to CCA levels. This includes not only the technical aspects of the products, but also a direct interface to critical manufacturing documentation/execution and key suppliers.
Provides technical leadership, direction, and mentoring to other technical employees in the application of mechanical design, fundamental engineering principles, tools, and techniques to achieve practical results.
This position is contingent upon the successful transfer of a Top Secret clearance and the ability to obtain/maintain a Special Access Program (SAP) clearance prior to start.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree with 16 years of experience, a masters degree with 14 years of experience or a PhD with 12 years of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics or related technical fields; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
U.S Citizenship is required.
A current/active Top Secret clearance or higher.
The ability to obtain/maintain a Special Access Program (SAP) clearance prior to starting.
Strong collaboration skills with experience working across BUs, divisions, and sectors as well as strong communication skills.
Minimum 16 years of technical experience in mechanical design and technical leadership or project leadership positions.
Expertise in the areas of the Common Radar Module (CRM) standard, Receive/Exciter, Processor, Ground Based Radars, manufacturing, operations and systems engineering.
Preferred Qualifications:
Expertise as a mechanical ADA.
Experience in developing and maintaining complex mechanical systems and sub-systems.
Experience leading the performance of technical tasks on schedule, at cost, and achieving all requirements as either a chief engineer or technical lead.
Experience integrating multiple engineering specialties and stakeholders across multiple Teams and Suppliers

Salary Range: $197,500.00 - $296,300.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
