C3/4 Digital Project Manager

The Digital Project Manager will functionally report to the VP, Digital Solutions and be assigned to the Cernavoda 3/4 Nuclear New Build project under the Director, Configuration Management. The PM will be responsible for all aspects of digital solutions scope for the Cernavoda 3/4 project.

This role will provide an avenue for the project to perform work with increased efficiency and transparency by utilising state of the art digital tools throughout the project lifecycle. This role will support streamlining the digital design and other project processes by removing barriers and promoting change within the project.

This role will require liaising with and directing digital team members and will be responsible for developing work execution plans and project deliverables as determined by the project scope. The successful individual is expected to have significant experience in project delivery and project execution methodology including an understanding of engineering, procurement, construction, contract management and project controls principles, as well as applicable technologies.

Your role within the team:

  • Responsible for maintaining the digital scope and deliverable definition in compliance with the governing contract documents, quality requirements for the project and any additional customer requirements.
  • Accountable for all aspects of the digital scope and to lead and direct all team members who are performing duties to ensure that the work progresses with safety, quality, schedule, cost, and contractual requirements.
  • Act as the representative of the Candu Digital solutions function on the project by implementing best practices and lessons learned from other projects.
  • Set up and maintain the overall systems architecture for the project including digital tools for both engineering and non-engineering functions.
  • Accountable to set up and maintain the digital engineering tools for the Joint Venture and internal users, ensuring that new tools are set up in time and access and permission levels are up to date.
  • Accountable for all aspects of nuclear and industrial safety including adherence with corporate and customer safety programs, development and enforcement of necessary training and requirements, adherence to corrective action programs and enforcement of performance standards for all of the above.
  • Ensure that all project activities are performed in accordance with corporate standards of ethical compliance, cyber-security, import-export regulations, intellectual property protections and security clearance protocols.
  • Ensure that project procurement and subcontract management including subcontractor and supplier oversight, invoicing, accruals and supply chain strategies are aligned with risk management, quality requirements, schedule and budget considerations and overall performance standards commensurate with the project and customer requirements.
  • Form and maintain relationships with clients, partners, suppliers and project stakeholders.
  • Approval of Purchase Orders and Project Change Orders within the company or project tiered limits of authority frequently one of several required approvals.
  • Authorized to represent Company to client or suppliers with respect to project work and has signing authority for project correspondence, invoices, work orders etc., subject to company limits of authority.
  • Responsible for regular formal reporting to senior internal and client management stakeholders.
  • Provides feedback and effective recommendations into functional performance review processes.
  • Make effective decision/recommendations on (or responsible for) human resource issues and effectively manage and resolve work performance problems as they relate to the project.

  • BSc in Engineering or equivalent is an asset.
  • 8+ years experience supporting various type of projects including construction, manufacturing or engineering services projects.
  • 3-5 years experience leading individuals and teams.
  • Experience working in a Nuclear environment is an asset.
  • Knowledge and experience of implementation of IT/IS solutions.
  • Knowledge and experience of data management.
  • Knowledge and experience of security aspects.
  • Understanding of digital requirements and software on large projects.
  • Understanding of nuclear supply chain and materials management principles.

  • An appreciation of the importance of Quality Assurance Programs and their significance to the nuclear industry.
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings, blue prints and specifications.
  • Understanding of project delivery methodology including earned value, critical path scheduling, prime contract and subcontract management, procurement and supply chain methodology and inspection and test plans.
  • Working Knowledge of industrial safety and nuclear safety culture.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and customer relationship skills.
