Medium Equipment Operator - Neighborhood Parks Maintenance Division

The Medium Equipment Operator participates in the mowing and landscaping in the neighborhood parks and athletic fields. Including the operation of tractors, tractor implements, loaders, skid steers, mowers, and other associated equipment.

• Maintains, inspects, and operates various hand and power tools and small equipment, such as weed trimmers, chainsaws, mowers, blowers, and hand tools.
• Removes litter, debris, weeds, and wild growth; cleans waste and empties trash receptacles; shovels soil, rock, mulch, leaves, and debris; loads materials on trucks.
• Performs general landscape maintenance, including blowing, weed eating, and spreading mulch.
• Maintains assigned equipment; completes minor repairs; washes and greases equipment.
• Digs trenches.
• Repairs irrigation lines and mainline breaks.
• Plants shrubs and trees.
• Trims hedges and prunes landscape plants.
• Applies mulch to landscape beds.
• Trims and pulls weeds.
• Rakes and blows leaves.
• Applies pesticides and fertilizers.
• Collects and removes litter.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

High School Diploma or GED equivalent; with two (2) years of medium equipment operation and maintenance experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history.

Work location: 16 Interchange Ct. Hours: 6:15 am- 2:45 pm Monday- Friday

Background investigation, including supervised drug screen, post offer/pre-employment medical screen; and verification of education, certifications, and licenses required prior to employment.
