Who we're looking for:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Observability Architect to lead the design, implementation, and management of a comprehensive observability strategy within our organization. This role is crucial for ensuring our telecommunications systemsincluding networks, platforms, and customer experiencesare proactively monitored, resilient, and optimized for performance and reliability.
What you'll do:
- Design and Lead Observability Architecture: Develop and implement an observability framework tailored for complex hybrid environments involving physical networks, virtualized platforms, and cloud-native services. You will own the architecture and roadmap for observability across these systems.
- Dynatrace Implementation & Management: Deploy, manage, and expand Dynatrace capabilities such as Grail, AppEngine, Session Replay, and Kubernetes Observability to enhance observability maturity across telecom domains, including OSS/BSS, 5G core, and edge platforms.
- Service Telemetry & Instrumentation: Collaborate with various teamssoftware engineers, network specialists, and operations analyststo define telemetry standards and ensure consistent instrumentation across distributed systems using Dynatrace SDKs, OneAgent, and OpenTelemetry standards.
- End-to-End Monitoring: Enable full-stack monitoring and alerting solutions that cover application performance, network health, infrastructure status, synthetic testing, and user experience, with a strong focus on telecom KPIs.
- Automation & Integration: Integrate observability practices into CI/CD pipelines, network orchestration systems (e.g., ONAP), ITSM platforms, and service assurance workflows to drive automated diagnostics and improve MTTR.
- Incident Management & Support: Provide critical insights during incidents through root cause analysis and proactive anomaly detection, supporting problem management and resolution efforts.
- Standards & Governance: Define best practices and governance frameworks for observability, including naming conventions, tagging strategies, SLIs/SLOs, data collection, and access controls.
What you bring:
- Extensive experience (minimum 5+ years years) in observability, network performance monitoring, or infrastructure architecture, with a preference for telecom or service provider environments.
- Proven expertise in deploying and managing Dynatrace solutions, with knowledge of advanced features and integrations.
- Strong understanding of telecom architectures, including OSS/BSS systems, NFV, SDN, and 5G Core/Edge infrastructure.
- Experience with cloud-native platforms (Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, GCP) and observability tools like OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, and Splunk.
- Proficient in scripting and automation (Python, Bash, PowerShell) and infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Ansible).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to lead cross-functional collaboration in high-stakes environments.
- Dynatrace Certified (Associate or Professional)
- Experience with TM Forum standards, 3GPP, ITU-T, or integrating observability in telecom service assurance workflows
- Familiarity with fault management and performance analytics platforms.
