Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Federal Master Planner / Project Manager for immediate employment in the Arlington, VA office to work in our Federal Planning group. The position will lead or serve on multi-disciplinary planning projects primarily for military installations and federal agencies. As the lead of multiple projects and teams, the planner will develop creative and innovative solutions to address the Federal Governments issues, and will:

  • Be responsible for all project tasks included in the task order including schedule, data collection and analysis, workshop preparation, meeting facilitation, concept development, report writing and layout, graphics development, etc.
  • Coordinate project resources and staffing and task management
  • Manage clients communications, expectations and requests
  • Communicate effectively with project team and provide clear guidance
  • Ensure quality of reports and documents developed meets guidelines
  • Mentor staff to assist in their professional growth
  • Assist with preparation of proposals for planning projects
  • Contribute to client relationships and business development efforts
  • Introduce innovative ideas or processes to streamline project efforts
  • Leads, develops, and directs growth of studio team

In addition, the Senior Federal Master Planner / Project Manager will attend our AECOM Project Management certification process within the first year of employment. This role requires a SECRET level security clearance to support our Federal clients.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements :

  • BA/BS in Urban/Regional Planning or related field plus eight (8) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Due to the nature of the role, must be a U.S. citizen
  • Professional AEC experience working as a Project Manager and managing a project team
  • AICP certification or able to obtain within 1 year of hire
  • Due to the nature of this role, the applicant must hold an active Security Clearance

  • Ten (10) years of related work experience
  • Complete the AECOM Project Management Certification Course
  • Be a strong technical leader and collaborator
  • Excellent communication skills with clients and project teams
  • Proficient at public speaking, presentation, and facilitation skills
  • Positive outlook and can-do attitude approach to projects and teamwork
  • Exceptional writing, research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to balance priorities
  • Efficient and organized project manager with an attention for detail
  • Ability to work independently as well as lead multi-disciplinary teams
  • Flexible to adapt to evolving project requirements and client requests
  • Fiscally responsible with projects and assignments
  • Team building and office management experience preferred
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite required
