We are seeking an experienced and visionary Hardware Architect to lead platform strategy and architectural alignment across the DeltaV Process Systems and Solutions business groups. This role will be instrumental in defining the long-term architectural roadmap for hardware platforms supporting a broad portfolio of industrial automation products.

The Hardware Architect will work multi-functionally with global marketing and product management teams to translate customer needs into implementable technical directions, ensuring alignment of hardware designs and innovations across the DeltaV DCS, SIS, and RTU product lines. This role will also provide technical mentorship to engineering teams around the globe.

IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL:

  • Partner with marketing and product management to define, prioritize, and document the architectural roadmap for embedded hardware across DeltaV DCS, SIS, and RTU product portfolios.
  • Translate market and customer requirements into technically feasible hardware architectures and development plans.
  • Drive architectural consistency, reuse, and alignment across multiple product lines, ensuring scalability and long-term supportability.
  • Lead platform strategy development for embedded controllers, industrial I/O, and network communication modules.
  • Provide hands-on technical guidance and mentorship to global hardware design teams across Emersons engineering centers.
  • Facilitate multi-functional collaboration between hardware, firmware, software, and product engineering groups.
  • Support product lifecycle planning including proactive technology refreshes and obsolescence strategies.
  • Estimate project cost and development timelines in collaboration with management and engineering leads.
  • Ensure designs meet regulatory, safety, and performance standards for industrial environments.

WHO YOU ARE: You experiment with a wide range of existing technologies while applying new and emerging options that can enhance organizational outcomes. You analyze multiple and diverse sources of information to define problems accurately before moving to solutions. You find and champion the best creative ideas and actively move them into implementation. You facilitate an open dialogue with a wide variety of contributors and collaborators.

FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in embedded hardware design and architecture within industrial or critically important environments.
  • Proven experience developing or leading all aspects of hardware platform strategy across multiple product lines.
  • Expertise in embedded systems and digital/analog circuit design
  • Strong understanding of requirements management, systems engineering principles, and product development lifecycles.
  • Demonstrated leadership in aligning technical direction across geographically distributed teams.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without need for sponsorship now or in the future

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART:

  • Familiarity with DeltaV architecture and industrial automation systems.
  • Understand of industrial networking architecture.
  • Experience working in regulated industries (e.g., process, power, oil & gas).
  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols and functional safety standards
  • Exposure to hardware cybersecurity standard processes.
