Join a global hardware engineering team focused on developing cutting-edge CT systems for advanced medical diagnostic imaging. As an ECAD Designer, you will play a critical role in the electrical design process, supporting both new product development and sustaining engineering efforts. You will work closely with electrical engineers, mechanical designers, and manufacturing teams to ensure high-quality PCB designs that meet performance, reliability, and manufacturability standards.

Essential Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing schematic capture and transitioning an electrical design into PCB layout, as well as project database management, and design documentation. This role emphasizes collaboration, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of ECAD tools and design practices. You will contribute to the full product lifecycle, from concept through production, and support engineers and technicians as they complete verification and validation testing.

Main responsibilities for this role will be in circuit board layout/management (Low Voltage, High Voltage and digital), looking for a well- rounded Designer/Engineer that wants to focus on circuit board layout but can also execute a variety of other tasks on this super-awesome fun-tastic team.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Create and manage schematic designs using ECAD tools (Cadence).
  • Perform PCB layout for complex analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits.
  • Collaborate with electrical engineers to optimize board designs for performance, cost, and manufacturability.
  • Assist engineers to maintain and update component libraries and design standards.
  • Generate and manage design documentation including BOMs, fabrication, and assembly drawings.
  • Support prototype builds and the resolution of design-related issues.
  • Interface with PWA/PWB manufactures and suppliers.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide feedback on electrical and mechanical integration.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and safety standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, or related field.
  • Proficiency in ECAD tools such as Cadence Allegro or other design tools (eg. Mentor Graphics, or Altium Designer)
  • Strong understanding of PCB design principles, including high-speed digital and analog layout.
  • Experience with multi-layer board design and impedance control.
  • Familiarity with standard drafting practices and electronic documentation.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

Desired Characteristics

  • Good understanding of circuit/circuit board design both analog and digital
  • 5 years of experience in ECAD design for electronic hardware systems.
  • Knowledge of EMC/EMI design techniques and compliance testing.
  • Knowledge of Low and high voltage DC and AC circuit designs
  • Interest in growing in the role from circuit board design to overall team design strategy.
  • Hands on skills to perform rework or root cause analysis in the lab
  • Experience with PLM systems and version control tools.
  • Familiarity with 3D ECAD/MCAD collaboration tools.
  • Familiarity with digital electronics, switches, power supplies, and flux capacitors
  • Experience with medical device or regulated industry design practices.
  • High level understand of FPGA design / VHDL coding
  • Experience working with global teams in different time zones
  • Experience with simulation environments within Cadence Allegro and Keysight software tools
  • Proficiency in Cadence Allegro ECAD toolset/software.
  • Knowledge of Altium Designer ECAD tool.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Passion for continuous improvement and innovation in design processes.
