Responsibilities:
Incumbent will manage a 24-hour, 7-day (day/night) sub-division unit in the inspection, repair maintenance, and capital reconstruction section of NYC Transit's 827 miles of rapid transit track including yards. Develops subdivision's monthly and annual material requirements, implementing strategic and tactical plans to enable the division to better utilize limited material and workforce resources. Oversee the procurement and fabrication of track material utilized in the maintenance and reconstruction of tracks. Oversee construction and renewal operations on the elevated and underground structures including panels, switches and yards. Develops and maintains Track cleaning schedules, pest control, rail grinding and vacuum trains. Direct emergency response by Track personnel; Making on-site evaluations of emergency situations and recommending the appropriate level and type of response required and developing action plans to minimize service disruptions. Oversee regular maintenance and repair operations to ensure personnel adherence to system safety policies and procedures. Maintain and allocate budget within the subdivision.
Education and Experience:
Eight (8) years of full-time relevant experience, of which five (5) years must have been in managerial/supervisory capacity
Baccalaureate or an equivalent combination of education and experiences may be considered in lieu of degree
Desired Skills:
- Knowledge of rapid transit systems or railroad operations, track equipment testing, inspection, repair, reconstruction, installation and rehabilitation.
- Knowledge of project management.
- Demonstrate ability to apply managerial skills.
- Extensive related experience is highly desirable.

Based on evaluation of education, skills, experience, and interview.
All appointments, with the exception of the Department of Subways employees on MABSTOA payroll, will be made on the NYCT payroll.
