HX5 is currently seeking a Facilities Cost Estimator to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates for facility renovation,
  sustainment, and modernization projects.
• Present estimates to managers, clients, or other interested parties.
• Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates
  and resolve issues.
• Confer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost
  estimates.
• Prepare reports or bids that detail the cost breakdown.
• Estimate the cost of equipment or materials to be bought or leased.
• Adjust estimates based on changing market conditions, price fluctuations, and other economic factors.
• Keep track of the latest industry trends and pricing to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
• Use software for data analysis, forecasting and budgeting, and project management.
• Verify subcontractor quote submissions

Salary Range: The salary range for this position is between $70,000 and $90,000 annually, based on experience.

Education and Experience:
Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience:

• Must have at least 8 years of general experience
• Must have at least 4 years of direct experience as a cost estimator
• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, design plans, and specifications
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
• Strong math and research skills
• Ability to multitask and meet strict deadlines

• Proficient in RSMeans (or similar) and MS Office

Desired Requirements:

• BS degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or a related field
• Professional certification in cost estimation or project management is a plus
• Understand Earned Value Management

• Familiar with MS Project and financial systems

Other Position Requirements:

• Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
• Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
• Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret clearance by date of hire.
• Must have a valid Drivers License.
