Santa Monica Seafood, a family-owned company, has been in the seafood business for over 80 years. We are searching for a Driver Supervisor to lead our logistics team in Thornton, CO location. This position is responsible for coordinating daily delivery routes, supervising a team of drivers, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries to retail and commercial clients, and maintaining compliance with transportation and safety standards. The Driver Supervisor also serves as a liaison between the driving team, dispatch, and warehouse staff to optimize delivery performance and customer satisfaction. This position will also be required to service a delivery route.

This position is generally a 5 days a week, and other shifts as requested. Overtime hours, working weekends and holidays, and starting at various start times are required in order to successfully meet customers needs.

Essential Skills and Knowledge:
In-depth knowledge of transportation and logistics operations in a wholesale distribution environment.
Strong leadership and team coordination skills, with the ability to motivate and manage performance.
Familiarity with warehouse processes, inventory handling, and delivery documentation.
Strong understanding of DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA compliance requirements.
Proficient in route planning tools, GPS systems, and logistics software (e.g., Samsara, Roadnet).
Strong problem-solving skills, especially in time-sensitive delivery environments.
Customer-focused mindset with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Effectively plan and organize work activities independent of direct supervision.
Maintain ongoing inter-department communications related to routing, safety, and customer relations.
Demonstrate strong customer relations and problem resolution skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead pre-shift meetings and provide daily driver assignments based on delivery schedules.
Drive and be responsible for their own delivery route.
Review driver logs and ensure timely completion of all required reports, including mileage, fuel usage, and delivery confirmations.
Communicate delivery exceptions or client concerns to dispatch and sales teams.
Ensure safe and efficient loading and unloading practices in coordination with warehouse personnel.
Assist with delivery audits and customer feedback reviews to identify service improvements.
Lead and coordinate daily route planning and dispatching of drivers to ensure timely and efficient deliveries to wholesale customers.
Supervise and mentor delivery drivers, providing coaching, support, and performance feedback.
Serve as the primary contact for resolving delivery issues, delays, or vehicle breakdowns in real time.
Monitor and ensure compliance with DOT regulations, company policies, and safety procedures.
Conduct regular vehicle inspections and coordinate maintenance to ensure all vehicles meet operational standards.
Support logistics team in troubleshooting routing challenges and optimizing delivery schedules.
Train new drivers on company protocols, safety practices, customer service expectations, and operational systems.
Perform route coverage as needed due to driver absence, high volume, or emergencies.
Maintain accurate records for fleet maintenance, driver performance, and incident reporting.
Maintain sanitary conditions in tractor and trailer and assist with maintaining sanitary conditions in the warehouse and yard.
Attend all required company meetings.
Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training in logistics or transportation management is a plus.
Valid Class A or B Commercial Drivers License (CDL), depending on fleet requirements.
Minimum of 3 5 years of commercial driving experience, preferably in wholesale or B2B delivery environments.
Prior supervisory or lead experience in a logistics, transportation, or distribution setting strongly preferred.
Clean driving record and ability to pass background and drug screening.
Physical ability to lift, carry, and move products during deliveries as needed.
Flexible schedule availability, including early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends.
Ability to function in and foster a team oriented work environment.
Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include weekends and holidays depending on demands.
Able to read, write, and communicate in English as it relates to the job and to the safety regulations.
Must have basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
Proof of eligibility to work under I9, Employment Eligibility Verification requirements.
