Toole Design Group in is looking to hire an experienced and talented Senior Landscape Architect to join our growing multidisciplinary Northeast region team in the Boston, MA office. We are looking for a teammate who is a creative and forward-thinking designer with leadership experience. A Day in the Life of a Senior Landscape Architect

You are at the forefront of brainstorming creative solutions for challenging projects. You will apply your broad knowledge of technical design criteria, site design, and trail design best practices, to landscape architecture and urban design tasks. You are leading or co-leading project teams and at the table with our clients, community members, planners, and engineers on projects from start to finish. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide spectrum of projects that may include concept and final design, stakeholder outreach and design workshops, demonstration projects, and construction management. You will supervise and mentor team members through our multidisciplinary design process. You will participate in business development pursuits in your home region as well as across our North American offices. You get to work with a close-knit team that is passionate about the work and the communities that you serve.

We are targeting a salary range of $109,000 to $125,700 for this position.

Work Schedule for a Senior Landscape Architect

This full-time position typically works a hybrid flexible schedule of 40 hours per week. We provide employees with the flexibility and necessary equipment to work from home 2 days per week. Our Boston office is conveniently located in Bostons Downtown Crossing, directly adjacent to the iconic Boston Common, within a short walk to all of the major rapid transit lines and close to both North Station and South Station commuter rail lines. Applicants should be willing to travel within New England to support public engagement activities. The office is easily accessed on foot, by bicycle, and via transit (Downtown Crossing, Park Station, South Station, SL4, SL5, and several buses including routes 43,7, 11).

Requirements

Qualifications of a Senior Landscape Architect: Even if you don't think your current skill set checks every box below, if this role seems to align with your strengths, we want to hear from you.

  • Landscape architect licensure in MA, other New England states a plus
  • An accredited bachelors and/or masters degree in landscape architecture required
  • 8+ years of hands-on public realm landscape architecture design experience including project management and construction observation and/or administration
  • Design and technical expertise in construction document preparation
  • Experience in multimodal trail planning and design is a plus
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in leading and managing project teams
  • Staff supervision and mentoring experience
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, and 3D visualization tools (e.g., Lumion, Rhino)
