A Day in the Life of a Multimodal Transportation Engineer
You are at the forefront of brainstorming creative solutions for challenging projects. You will be part of an interdisciplinary team to deliver multimodal transportation infrastructure in a wide range of contexts from complex roadway reconstructions and vibrant urban streetscapes to iconic trail projects that celebrate and preserve the natural character of suburban and rural landscapes. You use state of the art tools and practices to help create sustainable, people centered, multimodal transportation infrastructure.

We are targeting a salary range of $71,000 to $75,000 for this position.
Work Schedule for a Multimodal Transportation Engineer
This full-time position typically works a flexible schedule of 40 hours a week. We also provide employees with the flexibility and necessary equipment to work from home up to 2 days per week. Our Boston office is conveniently located in Boston's Downtown Crossing, directly adjacent to the iconic Boston Common, within a short walk to all of the major rapid transit lines and close to both North Station and South Station commuter rail lines. The office is easily accessed on foot, by bicycle, and via transit (Downtown Crossing, Park Station, South Station, SL4, SL5, and several buses including routes 43,7, 11).

RequirementsQualifications of a Multimodal Transportation Engineer:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in transportation or civil engineering or a related field
- Fundamentals of Engineering Certification (EIT), or a plan to obtain such certification within two years
- Experience with or ability to quickly learn Computer Automated Design (AutoCAD)
- Experience with the Microsoft Office suite of applications
- Knowledge of roadway geometric design or transportation analysis techniques
- A strong interest in multimodal and active transportation design is preferred
It would be a plus if you have any of the following:
- Familiarity with design software (Civil 3D, GEOPAK, or InRoads)
- Proficiency using traffic analysis software (Synchro, SIDRA)
- Prior experience at a consulting firm, public entity, non-profit or higher learning institution
- Experience conducting public outreach and engagement
