Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced School Bus Mechanic to ensure the optimal safety, efficiency, and operational readiness of our fleet of school buses. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of vehicle electrical systems, hydraulics, and general heavy-duty vehicle maintenance, with a proven track record of working on school buses and compliance with New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform thorough preventative maintenance inspections (PMIs) on school buses in accordance with NYSDOT, and federal regulations, as well as company standards.
Execute scheduled and unscheduled repairs, which may include engine overhauls, transmission replacements, brake system repairs, and suspension work.
Maintain meticulous and accurate records of all maintenance and repair work, including parts used and labor hours, ensuring compliance with all record-keeping requirement
Required Qualifications:
Valid New York State Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P)
In-depth knowledge of air brake systems, hydraulic systems, and complex vehicle electrical systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with specific school bus manufacturers commonly used in NYC (e.g., Blue Bird, Thomas Built, IC Bus).
Familiarity with New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) and New York State school bus inspection and maintenance standards.
