Position Summary:
The Maintenance Superintendent oversees the facility's maintenance operations to ensure equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and manage related costs. This role is crucial to supporting production goals by providing high-quality repair and maintenance services, implementing best practices, and driving continuous improvement. Responsibilities include equipment management, contractor oversight, vendor and spare parts management, budgeting, and team development.
Position Responsibilities:
- Proactively work to ensure that all ADM employees, visitors, vendors and contractors understand and comply with the ADM safety policies and procedures.
- Set goals and expectations for the maintenance team, driving Performance Excellence.
- Support production departments in safety, quality, and audit compliance.
- Align and execute ADM's Maintenance and Reliability vision and strategy.
- Oversee preventative maintenance and reliability activities.
- Manage the maintenance budget and control monthly repair & maintenance spending.
- Lead root-cause analysis for failures and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and analyze maintenance metrics to improve performance.
- Train production staff on equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Maintain an organized storeroom and inventory of spare parts.
- Coordinate maintenance schedules to minimize production disruptions.
- Manage maintenance records using CMMS and ensure proper documentation.
- Lead maintenance-related projects focused on asset reliability and defect elimination.
- Support team development through training, feedback, and coaching.
- Degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Production Manufacturing, or a related field with electrical and mechanical knowledge.
- Experience in Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) processes.
- Strong background in maintenance management or supervision, with a preference for food, feed, or chemical production environments.
- Knowledge of asset management techniques and proficiency with CMMS and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent problem-solving, diagnostic, and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
- Familiarity with machinery, instrumentation, and electrical systems.
- Ability to move throughout the facility, including climbing stairs, ladders in all buildings, and to work at heights
- Work is performed indoors and out-of-doors year-round, occasionally in environments that are dusty, noisy, or which could have work hazards.
