- Set up and operate various polishing and buffing machines to finish parts according to engineering specifications and work orders.
- Monitor machine operations, adjusting settings as needed to ensure consistent, high-quality finish.
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections on finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Identify and report any defects, blemishes, or deviations from quality standards.
- Clean and prepare finished parts for packaging.
- Accurately count, sort, and package parts according to customer and company requirements.
- Label packages correctly for inventory and shipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance.
- Follow all company safety protocols and procedures.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production deadlines and goals.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience as a machine operator, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Experience with polishing, buffing, or grinding equipment is highly desirable.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work orders.
- Proficiency with basic measuring tools (calipers, micrometers).
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Strong work ethic and a reliable attendance record.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
- Requires repetitive hand and wrist motions.
