Machine Operator 1 - Finishing and Packaging

The Machine Operator will be responsible for the final stages of our production process. This role involves operating polishing machinery to achieve specified surface finishes on manufactured parts, conducting thorough quality inspections to ensure they meet our high standards, and carefully packaging the finished components for shipment. The ideal candidate is meticulous, reliable, and has a strong commitment to quality. Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate various polishing and buffing machines to finish parts according to engineering specifications and work orders.
• Monitor machine operations, adjusting settings as needed to ensure consistent, high-quality finish.
• Perform visual and dimensional inspections on finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Identify and report any defects, blemishes, or deviations from quality standards.
• Clean and prepare finished parts for packaging.
• Accurately count, sort, and package parts according to customer and company requirements.
• Label packages correctly for inventory and shipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Perform routine maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance.
• Follow all company safety protocols and procedures.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production deadlines and goals.

Qualifications and Skills

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience as a machine operator, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Experience with polishing, buffing, or grinding equipment is highly desirable.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work orders.
• Proficiency with basic measuring tools (calipers, micrometers).
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Strong work ethic and a reliable attendance record.

Physical Demands

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
• Requires repetitive hand and wrist motions.
