This position assists in the planning, design, and development of technical standards for gas distribution infrastructure projects. As an Engineer in the design group, you will be working on assignments involving the design of components or functionality of pipeline products, planning and designing mechanical equipment, performing system balances to identify solutions for system issues, and providing oversight and support for construction activities.

Responsibilities

  • Work on gas storage or gas fueling station assignments involving the design of pipeline components.
  • Plan and design mechanical equipment and components, including maintenance of mechanical equipment.
  • Perform system balances to identify system low points and methods to best solve them.
  • Provide oversight and support for construction activities.
Essential Skills
  • 1+ year of professional working experience within an engineering capacity.
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical or Civil preferred).
  • Previous project management experience.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, pipeline design, utility design, mechanical design, and linear project management.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Previous experience supporting DOT projects is a plus.
  • Experience working in MicroStation is a plus.
  • Ability to run stakeholder meetings with high-level leadership.
  • EIT certification is a plus.
Work Environment

The work environment consists of five divisions within design, each with roughly eight engineers, three new business coordinators, and two design techs. Each engineer covers a specific territory of pipeline miles. Approximately 70% of the time will be spent in the office, and 30% in the field, reviewing pipelines to ensure the finished product fits the design standard. The company values engineering and engineers, with 80% of upper management having an engineering back ground. This position requires communication with ten different departments, including vendors, internal departments, and field construction teams. Candidates must be local to Atlanta and can enjoy flexible working hours starting between 7-9 AM, working eight hours a day. The work schedule includes four days in the office and one day remote.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.
