Job Title: Mechanical Designer

Job Description

This position is ideal for a skilled individual with a technical experience in drafting or relevant work experience, who enjoys working with customer specifications and refurbishing old pumps. The role involves going out to the shop to gather dimensions and working on the structural and skid portions of pumps, including building beams and placing pumps and motors on skids.

Responsibilities

  • Gather dimensions in the shop and work on structural and skid portions of pumps.
  • Build beams and place pumps and motors on skids.
  • Design and draft pumps, gear reducers, electrical panels, and base or skids for units based on customer orders.
  • Work with weldments and primarily focus on 3D design.

Essential Skills

  • 2+ years of technical experience in CAD.
  • 2+ years of experience using SolidWorks.
  • Experience with structural skids and building beams.
  • Must have experience with pumps.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience using AutoCAD.
  • Experience with piping is recommended but training will be provided.
  • Technical degree in drafting is nice to have but not required.

Work Environment

This role will initially require training for approximately one month, after which it may transition to a hybrid role based on management discretion. The site is located in Katy, TX, and is new, offering a vibrant and dynamic work setting. The company divides orders into standard and package sections, focusing mostly on 3D design. There is a large backlog, ensuring job stability and continuity.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr.
