Sr. MRP Master Planner
Location: San Jose, CA (on-site position)
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior MRP Master Planner to lead and optimize our material planning processes. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely availability of materials to support manufacturing operations, while balancing inventory levels, supplier performance, and production schedules. You will play a critical role in driving efficiency and ensuring customer satisfaction through effective planning and coordination across departments.
Essential Functions:
- Lead the development, execution, and maintenance of MRP planning parameters and policies (lead times, safety stock, lot sizes, etc.). Drive robust tool development to manage complex planning, BOM, and inventory flows
- Translate sales forecasts and production plans into detailed material requirements using the ERP/MRP system
- Monitor and analyze inventory levels to ensure optimal stock without overage or shortages
- Coordinate closely with procurement, production, engineering, and logistics to align material availability with production schedules
- Review and adjust MRP outputs to respond to changes in demand, supply disruptions, or engineering changes
- Develop and maintain long-range materials planning models to support strategic business goals
- Generate and maintain master production schedules (MPS) aligned with business priorities and constraints
- Analyze planning KPIs such as inventory turns, service levels, forecast accuracy, and supplier performance; drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on MRP systems and planning best practices; mentor junior planners and contribute to systems/process enhancements
- Lead or support S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) processes, contributing data-driven insights and recommendations
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Operations, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 7+ years of progressive experience in material planning or supply chain roles, with strong expertise in MRP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards)
- Deep understanding of supply chain principles, demand planning, production scheduling, and inventory control
- Proficient in data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, or similar); experience with advanced planning systems is a plus
- APICS CPIM or CSCP certification preferred
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills
- Strong analytical skills: Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions
- Proven ability to resolve problems independently and take appropriate action in a timely manner
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency with NetSuite ERP/MRP systems, PLM systems (e.g., Arena, Agile), and supply chain analytics tools.
- Fluent in Mandarin
Salary range: $140,000 - $170,000
Please note that this position requires regular in-office attendance. The successful candidate is expected to be present in the office during standard working hours as determined by the company. In-office collaboration and participation in team meetings, training sessions, and other on-site activities are essential aspects of this role. Candidates should consider the commuting distance and be prepared to fulfill their responsibilities in the designated office location.
