We're looking for a Superintendent who knows how to run a jobsite, communicate clearly, and lead with both confidence and care. Someone who can drive the work, solve problems on the fly, and still shake hands with the new guy and make him feel like part of the team.

Commercial Construction Superintendent

We're looking for a Superintendent with at least 3 years of ground-up construction experience to lead on-site operations through every phase of the project-from pre-construction through closeout. You'll coordinate subcontractors, enforce safety standards, and ensure every detail is executed with quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead all on-site construction activity from pre-construction through close-out.
  • Ensure project execution aligns with schedule, safety protocols, quality standards, and budget.
  • Enforce safety protocol (BDB standards), conduct daily safety inspections, participate in toolbox talks, and keep documentation updated (JHAs, SWPPP logs, etc.).
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers across all trades.
  • Lead weekly site meetings, keeping the rhythm of the schedule tight and actionable.
  • Track and fulfill permit and inspection requirements. Maintain environmental and SWPPP compliance.
  • Read and interpret subcontract agreements, clarify scope with trade partners, and escalate potential gaps.
  • Understand owner commitments and contract types, and communicate key details to internal teams.
  • Participate in pre-construction, buyout, and foreman meetings.
  • Support cost tracking, field invoice reviews, and alignment of execution with financial goals.
  • Follow up on submittals, bulletins, and work authorizations-bring clarity and urgency to every change.
  • Lead site logistics and sequencing, engage in QA/QC walkthroughs, and support successful closeout (punch list, owner training, documentation).
  • Mentor and support project engineers and team members with leadership, technical knowledge, and perspective.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • 3-5 years' experience as a Construction Superintendent
  • At least 3 years of ground-up construction experience is required
  • Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, codes, and procedures
  • Ability to lead site teams, resolve issues, and keep momentum
  • Confident communicator across all levels: clients, architects, local authorities, and trade partners
  • Proven ability to spot risks and inefficiencies, and take action
  • Schedule-driven with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to lead by example with a high standard of ethics and professionalism

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs., climb, crawl, and stoop in construction environments.
  • Comfortable working outdoors and indoors on active job sites.
  • Use of standard PPE and carpentry tools as needed.

Work Environment:

  • On-site job locations with varying weather conditions
  • Team-oriented setting with collaboration across departments
  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Fast-paced, dynamic project environments

Benefits:

  • Pay Range: $90,000.00-$106,000.00 annually

Final compensation will be based on experience, skills, and alignment with the role.

  • Health & Wellness: Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Retirement: 401(k) with company match
  • PTO: Vacation, holidays, and personal days
  • Mental Health: EAP access and Mental Health First Aid training
  • Insurance: Company-paid life and long-term disability coverage
  • Growth: Career development, training, and mentorship opportunities
