WSP USA is initiating a search for a BIM Coordinator to work at Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport's Technical Campus. The WSP BIM Manager is responsible for providing technical leadership, implementing and supervising drawing and modeling standards, and performing complex modeling assignments and drawing production using Revit, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D. The BIM Manager will report to WSP USA's National Transportation & Infrastructure Digital Delivery team.

The position is full time on-site at Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport and entails the development and maintenance of the Airport's Revit/CAD/BIM libraries, standards, and workflows. The ideal candidate is an Engineer, Designer, or BIM Technician who is an expert in Revit interoperability workflows to act as the in-house BIM Coordinator. The BIM Coordinator will be responsible for refining and updating all ATL Airport templates, families, and libraries, as well as providing active and direct assistance to the different business lines and project teams.

Your Impact

  • Advanced knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Navisworks, and Autodesk Construction Cloud, including advanced modeling, custom family creation, drawing package management, clash detection and scripting.
  • Manages and updates the Airports BIM Standards, and Documentation, including BIM Execution Plans, LOD tables, Model Production Delivery Templates, etc.
  • Be knowledgeable on current National BIM standards, current building codes, energy codes, requirements of regulatory agencies, and current AEC industry best practices.
  • Ability to facilitate workshops and meetings to gather end-user requirements and coordinate solutions to complex problems across teams and departments.
  • Ability to gather appropriate resources to solve problems.
  • Understands overall project scope, the role of BIM team, and the roles of other disciplines for a project.
  • Understands the stakeholder needs and applies best practices to support the project.
  • Experience writing technical documentation and standards.
  • Strides for positive project outcomes measured in both labor efficiency and quality.
  • Performs model setup tasks including but not limited to project startup within Autodesk Construction Cloud, template selection/ preparation, sheet and view setup, and base cleaning.
  • Coordinate Design production between ATL Airport and its subcontractors and consultants.
  • Facilitates collaboration and clash detection for a large, multi-discipline project team across multiple companies.
  • Participates in team meetings to help resolve project issues such as coordination, scheduling, and technical concerns related to the Model Authoring software and platforms.
  • Be responsible for providing training through a combination of onsite, remote and/or online training courses geared toward making most effective use of the ADSK suite of tools.
  • Self-Checks own work, and staff's, to identify QA/QC improvement opportunities.
  • Consistently applies Quality Control procedures with an emphasis on thoroughness and precision.
  • Completes record/as-built drawings and coordinates with Facilities, Operations, and Maintenance teams to develop and implement Asset Management criteria.
  • Research emerging technologies and implement those into current workflows.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in closely related discipline (or equivalent experience.)
  • 5+ years' experience using Revit & AutoCAD/Civil3D technologies within the A/E/C industry
  • 5+ years' experience with Navisworks and Revit documentation and management
  • Experience with electronic file transfers and understanding of document management applications (SharePoint, Newforma, Dropbox, BIM 360, ACC etc.)
  • Proven ability to understand and recognize complex design problems.
  • Effective communication skills with a team-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to encourage and train effectively and tactfully, in-person and remote.
  • Active Listening - Ability to actively attend to, convey, and understand the comments and questions of others.
  • Communication, Oral - Ability to communicate effectively with others using the spoken word.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Autodesk Certified Professional in Revit
  • Experience with Autodesk Tandem, Inventor, Forma
  • Experience with ArcGIS or similar software
  • Experience with COBie, or similar Asset Management workflows, and integrations between the Model Authoring Software and Computerized Maintenance Management systems
  • Familiarity with BIM programming languages, iInteroperability tools, and plugins
  • Familiarity with project collaboration software such as Procore, Newforma, Asite, etc.
  • Familiarity with Airport Design requirements
