Job Title: Production Operator

Job Function: Manufacturing

Job Overview: Performs a variety of component installations and inspections on electronic assemblers/Sub-assemblies along a production line. May perform minor repair as

necessary. Reports to Production Supervisor Newark, CA.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  1. Duties performed in this role vary depending on the business unit, location or product being manufactured. Following is a list of possible duties.
  • Read work orders, follows production MPI (Manufacturing Process Instruction)
  • Positions and aligns parts in specified tooling support assembly.
  • Mounts assembled components to boards or units.
  • May install multi-level sub-assemblies in cases and cabinets.
  • Assembles and attaches hardware, such as caps, connectors. clamps, knobs, switches to assemblies
  • Performs intermediates assembly tasks, such as potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy bonding, curing, stamping, etching, impregnating and color code parts.
  • Sets up station with the correct documents and components per assembly drawing.
  • Handles/Install polarized/non-polarized on designated location on product.
  • Adjust or trim materials from components to achieve specified electrical requirements or dimensional characteristics.
  • Communicate any process problems with peers, leads, supervisors and or engineers.
  • May be required for certain assembler positions, these could include one or more skillsets.
  1. Execute written/verbal instructions given by supervisor and monitor efficiency and quality of assigned routine tasks:
  • Monitor PCB (Printed Circuit Board) assemblies through the process and report discrepancies to Supervisor line lead or technician,
  • Inspect finished boards for quality and quantity of work performed,
  • Read and follow work instructions and visual aids,
  • Check and inspect task results against predetermined standards,
  • Identify, communicate, and escalate production issues and problems.
  1. Provide team support:
  • Demonstrate work methods to new hires,
  • Share best practices, assist in minor troubleshooting,
  • Actively participate in cross-training.

Qualifications:

  • Typically required 1 year of electronic assembly or related to experience
  • Processing basic mechanical skills
  • Demonstrate basic manufacturing line knowledge and participate in process.
