We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated individual to manage health and safety across all corporate operations for the Council. As the Corporate and Schools Health and Safety Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and safety of Council-owned buildings, schools, and other facilities, as well as the wellbeing of the public and staff using these spaces.

Risk-Based Activity Management: Oversee and carryout a comprehensive, risk-based program of audits, checks, training, and policy development for corporate buildings, schools, and other Council properties, ensuring high safety standards and continuous monitoring.

Engagement and Collaboration: Foster effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including trade unions, the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), and other partners.

About You:

The ideal candidate will have:

Extensive experience in a senior health and safety role within a large organisation, ideally within public sector or local government.

A thorough understanding of statutory health and safety obligations, risk management practices, and regulatory compliance.
