Position: Mechanical Engineer - Thermal
Location: Hamden, CT

Our products help to enable theelectronics revolution and remain a key enabler for all the major Tier 1 OEMsglobally. Our global headquarters is located in Nashua, NH and we have design,sales and manufacturing locations globally. We are currently seeking aMechanical Engineer to join our team at Amphenol Spectra-Strip in Hamden, CT.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supports the mechanical and thermal design, simulation, and characterizationof our high-performance cable solutionsDevelop detailed multi-physics models of cables and systems with primaryfocus on their mechanical and thermal behaviorAnalyzes measurement data and optimize the technologies used inmechanical/thermal integration and testing to validate modeled performance andlong-term reliability using Python, Matlab, or similarConduct lab measurements using equipment such as Instron (tensile andcompression), flex testers, microscopes
QUALIFICATIONS:
M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Physics or a related field, and 5 yearsapplicable experience preferredSolid understanding of mechanical and thermal principles, and materialpropertiesExperience with FEM-based simulation and design tools (ANSYS Mechanicalpreferred) and generating custom meshesExperience in scripting languages such as MATLAB, Python, or similar, and indeveloping custom codes for numerical simulationsHands-on experience in designing and conducting mechanical and thermalcharacterization experiments is required
